Using the official Disneyland mobile app, guests who purchase Disney MaxPass can now make FASTPASS selections for the breathtaking nighttime water show, “World of Color,” at Disney California Adventure park and the dazzling “Fantasmic!” nighttime spectacular at Disneyland park. I usually shoot this show at 1/30 second to freeze projections and give the water a little whimsy boost. White balance is set to automatic – ISO: 2500 – f/4.

PRO TIP: If you’re going to try photographing this show from the waterfront boardwalk, be sure to use some sort of waterproof covering for the camera – you (and the camera) will probably get a little wet. I set my camera on a tripod and covered it with a rain-shelter. I pre-focused and locked focus on the center water screen and kept a lens cap on the lens unless I was shooting. Mind the drifting mist created by massive water cannons – it’ll sneak up on you from time to time, so keep a microfiber cloth handy for glass drying… just in case.
