Honk, Honk! Exciting news, Disneyland fans. The “highway in the sky” is back! Beginning tomorrow – Friday, Oct. 15 – you will once again be able to ride the classic Disneyland Monorail, as it officially returns to its daily operation as a part of phased reopening of the Disneyland Resort.
The Disneyland Monorail has been a beloved attraction for decades, ever since it first debuted at Disneyland in 1959 – more than 60 years ago! At that time, it was the first daily operating monorail in the Western Hemisphere.
The Disneyland Monorail not only serves as a fun transportation experience, but also offers a unique way to see elevated sights around the resort, including areal views of Tomorrowland and Fantasyland in Disneyland park and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure park.
For those who might not know, there are two locations to board the Disneyland Monorail; one station is located in the Downtown Disney District and the other station is in Tomorrowland. If you’re staying at one of the three hotels of the Disneyland Resort, hopping on the Disneyland Monorail is a fun way to bypass the main entrance and ride your way directly into Disneyland park! If you do decide to board from Downtown Disney, just remember to make sure you have your valid ticket and theme park reservation ready, since this will serve as your official entry into Disneyland park.
For additional details on the Disneyland Monorail, including hours of operation, be sure to check the Disneyland app or Disneyland.com. And don’t forget – a face covering will be required to ride this attraction, since it is an enclosed vehicle. Now, who’s ready to hop on board and join me on a round-trip journey? Welcome back, Disneyland Monorail!
