Disneyland unveils Halloween plans

By I-Chun Chen  – Correspondent, L.A. Biz

Disneyland Resort is launching its Halloween season right after Labor Day this year, with the introduction of a new character and return of popular evening events.

The seasonal attraction at Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park will run from Sept. 7 through Oct. 31 and feature Halloween-themed décor and food and beverage offerings, plus encounters with Disney villains and “happy haunts.”

New this year is the appearance of Vampirina, from the Disney Channel and Disney Junior series, "Vampirina." Also known as "Vee," Vampirina will greet visitors at Disney California Adventure Park and also be featured during the "Frightfully Fun Parade" at Mickey's Halloween Party.

The separate-ticket event, Mickey's Halloween Party, will return this year, featuring Disney characters in Halloween attire, trick or treating at locations throughout Disneyland and a chance for families to visit the parks after hours in costumes.

Guests with a Mickey's Halloween Party ticket, which start at $105, will be able to access the park for three hours prior to the event start time and be admitted to both Disneyland and Disney California Adventure parks.

Nighttime events also will include a firework show, ”Halloween Screams," and the "Frightfully Fun Parade" led by The Headless Horseman of Sleepy Hollow down Main Street, U.S.A.

At Disney California Adventure Park’s Cars Land, Radiator Springs will turn into Radiator Screams as the residents of Radiator Springs such as Lightning McQueen and Mater, don Halloween costumes and decorate their respective homes for the season. Mater's Junkyard Jamboree will become Mater's Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters will transform into Luigi's Honkin' Haul-O-Ween.
