WonderGround Gallery

With summer in full swing, the WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney District at theDisneyland Resort invites you to meet a few of our favorite artists during the month of June!

Featured Artisan of the Month: The Little Friends of Printmaking

The Little Friends of Printmaking first made a name for themselves by designing and silk screening concert posters. Today this husband-and-wife team, JW and Melissa Buchanan, work as illustrators and designers while continuing to spread the gospel of silkscreen to anyone inclined to listen through their fine art pursuits at exhibitions, lectures, and artists’ residencies worldwide. The Little Friends currently live in Los Angeles with lots of animals.

Appearance dates: June 1, 2, 22, and 23 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Artist in Residence: Nidhi Chanani

Nidhi Chanani is a freelance illustrator, cartoonist and writer. After completing her undergrad literature degree at the University of California at Santa Cruz, she pursued a career in nonprofits. The desire to draw was too strong and in 2008 she enrolled in art school. Starting 2009, Nidhi began completing one illustration every day of the week in an effort she called “Every Day Love.” After following this practice for three years, she developed her narrative style and voice which helped launch her art career and business.

Nidhi was born in Calcutta and raised in suburban southern California. She creates because it makes her happy – with the hope that it can make others happy, too. Nidhi draws and dreams every day with her husband, daughter and their attention-loving cat in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Appearance dates: Saturdays, June 8, 15, 22, and 29 from p.m. 5 to 9 p.m.; Sundays, June 9, 16, 23, and 30 from 4 to 7 p.m.

At WonderGround Gallery, enter into a world of imagination inspired by your favorite Disney films and characters, and see interpretive works in a range of mediums by dozens of artists. Each month, guests are invited to meet the artists and discover unique and new original pieces for your home, office or as special gifts, all rooted in Disney’s time-honored heritage of storytelling through art.
